Do you often ride bikes?

Why so many people ride bikes in China?

Yes. China is once called “the Kingdom of Bicycles”. I guess the main reason why many people ride bicycles in China is that bicycles are cheap while cars are extremely expensive—each family can easily afford to buy at least one bicycle, whereas only a small percentage of families can afford to buy cars.

What differences between the views of the old and the young toward bikes?

For the old, bicycles are just transportation tools; they rarely care about the color, design or any accessories, gadgets you can put on your bike. Contrastingly for the young, they are often fussy about these things, for they think bicycles are more than just transportation tools—they are also an expression of who they are.
