参考范文The implementation of modern technology in educational institutes is certainly a progression, yet many go overboard and claiming the traditional teaching methods should be completed replaced. Personally, I believe the merits of the old-school ways should never be neglected.
The most distinguishable advantage of modern educational technology is that it can improve access to education, including full degree programs, as such advance not only can provide numerous learning materials, but also can make these materials accessible to a wider audience. With greater possibility of engaging with these resources, students can spend more time on specific aspects of what they may be learning in school, but at home. An example of this could be when Khan Academy and TED Talks are actively being used in many schools and universities. Eventually, these additional support to the educational system will enable better integration for non-full-time students, particularly in continuing education.
Although students appreciate the convenience brought by these technologies, one must notice the complexity of learning environment as the interplay and interactions of many things impact the outcome of learning. When technology is brought into an educational setting, the pedagogical setting changes in that technology-driven teaching can change the entire meaning of an activity without adequate research validation. In fact, technology, in and of itself, does not necessarily result in fundamental improvements to educational practice, as the implementation of such technology would scarcely encourage students to work socially or collaboratively, and can also make them highly susceptible to distraction and sidetracking. This issue can be solved by appropriate supervision as provided by instructors in traditional classroom, meaning performance of courses equipped with high-level technology can be limited.
Overall, completely replacing traditional way of teaching with modern technology could be too aggressive due to questionable consequences of doing so.
